here. Aah but it does. The planning of the city and region are integrated and depend on higher utelization of public transit. The mayor is an ex-officio member of the regional council. It does put pressure but doesn't create backlash (the not creating backlash was my point). I don't think it would be reasonable to expect that the UPASS issue would come up during the height and density study presentation -- it was not a pressing issue to any residents and the student delegation wanted to talk about MDS and convince residents, not threaten them.
This does not mean that it is not a consideration for council or the mayor. I think it is (not a major one but one that stands in the way) and is useful for students to keep. [ Parent ]
