Ah. So killing people just for the sake of killing them, is morally equivalent to killing people who are expressly and actively trying to kill you? Just depends on your "perspective" right

Aside from the moral equivalence argument, this statement is a little flawed. According to this, the majority of the people dead appeared to be civilians, whom I would suppose (apart from murderers and serial killers), are not actively trying to kill anyone.

And of course, you would not give that argument if the Germans dropped an atomic bomb on London, since similarly, the English were expressly and actively trying to kill the Germans at the time.

We haven't been lucky. They've been winning precisely because they're right. And any country or nation or group that pursues justice, freedom, democracy will continue to win, and nothing will ever be able to stop them.

Just because they are on the winning side does not make them right. Look at how the Spanish treated the native Americans when they first landed here.

Unless, of course, if you give the argument that the Spanish didn't really win, since the English, and eventually the US, won. But given that argument, we will never really know who's actually right, since we can never look into the future.

The real problem is that the anti-war people are being equated to "no-action", when that is obviously not the case. Containment has worked in the past (consider the cold war), is working right now (Saddam has not invaded any neighbours in 12 years), and can work in the future, if implemented properly. It will also cause significantly less impact on the rest of the world than an outright war.

Just because they don't want war does not mean that they opt to do nothing. The two are not equivalent, and I guess the peace camp is not pushing that point enough, because no one seems to realise it.

But all of this is of course off topic, since this is a thread about the bars on campus.

PS - have to call Godwin on this one. Boy did that come fast.
