What A Troll Is (Lino Demasi)
Authored by: uws archive on Saturday, March 08 2003 @ 12:43 PM CST

This is an archived comment posted by Lino Demasi. You can view the original here.

No factual errors, no logical errors, no points of great importance that contradict his view overlooked, and certainly nothing to label him a troll.

The term troll when describing things here is not used to describe a person. It is used to describe his post. The person is "trolling", trying to get a certain type of response from people by posting the message. The message is what is considered a "troll".

Similar to the way one would drop a line into the water and troll for fish. You expect a fish to try and bite at the lure when is sees it in the same way you expect certain people will respond to a post due to what you wrote in it.
