2003 women's basketball recruits

The Waterloo Warriors Women’s Basketball team is excited to announce that six recruits have committed to Waterloo beginning this Fall 2003. “After finishing fifth last season, the Warriors coaching staff decided that we needed to be more athletic and stronger up the middle. With this in mind, I feel that we have addressed these needs with this years class”, commented Head Coach Tom O’Brien.


Nicole Tisdale

Nicole is a 5’8” guard from Springfield, Ontario. Nicole will be enrolled in Health Studies starting this September at Waterloo. Nicole attended East Elgin Secondary School where she was selected as an all-star and MVP of her league. In 2001, Nicole was the starting point guard and captain of the Ontario under-16 team. Last year, Nicole played club ball for the Southern Ontario Sultans. Nicole is an outstanding ball handler who was selected over two-hundred hopefuls to film a commercial with former Warrior standout Mano Watsa. Nicole was recruited and offered scholarships by a number of Division 1 schools in the United States, however, chose Waterloo for their outstanding programs.

Meaghan O’Reilly

Meaghan is a 5’11” forward from Seaforth, Ontario. Meaghan will be enrolled in the Honours Arts program at Waterloo this fall. Meaghan is a graduate of St. Michael’s High School in Stratford. Last season Meaghan played for the Stratford Sonnets Club team where she was their leading scorer. Meaghan is an outstanding athlete who runs the floor, rebounds, and can also hit the three-pointer. Meaghan will make a huge contribution to the inside as well as the outside game. Meaghan was recruited by a number of CIS schools.

Gillian Maxwell

Gillian is a 5'11" forward from Forest Heights C.I. in Kitchener. This September, Gillian will be enrolled in the Social Development Program at Waterloo. Last year Gillian played for the Waterloo Wildhawks club team. She is an extraordinary athlete who can "jump through the roof". Gillian will provide athleticism and rebounding for next years team.

Madeleine Noble

Madeleine is a 5'9" guard from Orillia, Ontario. She will be entering the Kinesiology program in September. Madeleine attended Twin Lakes Secondary School where she was the outstanding player on her team. In 2001, Madeleine played with fellow recruit Nicole Tisdale on the Ontario under-16 provincial team. Madeleine played for the Collingwood Trailblazers club Team. She is a very smart player who defends well and can score.

Lindsay Offner

Lindsay is a 6'2" post player from Huntsville, Ontario who played Huntsville Secondary School. Lindsay will be studying Arts and Business at Waterloo in the fall. Last year she played club ball for the Huntsville Hurricanes. She is very athletic for a post player and will provide the Warriors with an inside threat as well as a big player getting out on the break.

Taryn Spicer

Taryn is a 6'2" post /forward from Bracebridge, Ontario. In September she will be enrolled in the Recreation and Leisure Studies program at Waterloo. Taryn attended Muskoka Lakes Secondary School where she was their leading scorer and most valuable player. Taryn is a very talented big player who has the ability to run the floor, score from the perimeter and score inside. She was a team mate of Lindsay Offner on the Huntsville Hurricanes Club team last year.
