Universities may fall under Freedom of Information Act

Marshall Bellamy of University of Western Ontario's Gazette writes:

The Ontario Liberal government will be introducing an amendment to the Freedom of Information Act, possibly to include universities as one of the bodies that fall under its purview. The result could mean universities would have to surrender documents upon request.



The article includes comments from a rep from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, a political scientist from Western, a rep from the Council of Ontario Universities, Western's University Students' Council VP Education Dave Ford, and University of Waterloo President David Johnston.

What documents are applicable?

Presumably personal information, such as student marks or employee details are excluded. But what can be asked for? Meeting minutes? Could FEDS seek details of meetings regarding the closure of the Bars? Is the university hiding any information of interest?
