These are good suggestions.

I really think the site needs to rethink the way comments are displayed. I mean the Imprint news post has over 200 comments! It's annoying to try to hunt down the ones you haven't read yet.

There should be more advantages to being a registered user--this is a great chance for it. Comments should be easier to mange for those registered--the bold idea is great. As a plus, I know if there was greater advantages to logging in, I'd post with my registered alias a lot more often.
