Helmer removed from council

Councillors voted to remove Arts Co-op Councillor Jesse Helmer from council because he fulfilled the conditions for removal. His removal also caused him to vacate his seat on the Board of Directors.

Helmer had one excused absence in October 2003 and had an unexcused absence in January 2004 and March 2004.

Under the bylaws of Feds a student councillor is "deemed to have relinquished his/her seat" if he or she is absent or late for two meetings without having notified Feds, or if he or she is absent for four meetings regardless of notification.

Just wondering, what was the vote on this?

Did Helmer himself vote?

Silly decision
Authored by: Rob Ewaschuk on Sunday, April 04 2004 @ 04:27 PM CDT
This was a silly decision. Even ignoring the fact that Jesse is (err..was) a good councillor, it's silly to leave the board (and BP&P, but that's less important) with one less person for a month. There's no reason to kick someone off at this point, unless they were actively harming the organization.

*And* it means I owe him lunch, the bastard.
