But for those of us who aren't CS or engineering students (in other words...not computer geeks) could you please explain what "uws even survived a slashdotting" means?
www.slashdot.org is a VERY popular technology news site. Any websites that are featured in stories on the front page tend to get a large swell in visitors via slashdot. Smaller sites tend not to be able to handle the sudden surge in surfing traffic and usually crash. The fact that UWS was able to survive its first "slashdotting" is just an indicator of how stable the site is. [ Parent ]
