| Authored by: Why am I subsidizing the ESA?? on Tuesday, October 12 2004 @ 01:24 AM CDT |
Except most of the ESA aren't members of the Federation of Students and thus they have absolutely no right to influence the FEDS policies. Right?
It's like a visiting delegation from Saudi Arabia saying they don't like that Ontario allows same-sex marriage and so the notwithstanding clause should be used to override it. Should we really care?
I'd like to know, Jin, how many members of the ESA are FEDS members? And how many total ESA members are there? Or just give us a percentage of how many ESA members are FEDS members.
I think the FEDS should have a policy that at least 90% of the club's membership have to be FEDS members. And membership is determined by who shows up at the ESA events. The FEDS would be allowed, at any booking of FED Hall, or other area the FEDS normally charge for use, to request a show of Watcards of everyone who enters. And if more than 10% don't have Watcards, the ESA membership should be revoked for at least 1 year. Why should my fees be going to subsidize people from outside the university? That's just crazy.[ Parent ]
