Clarifying additions change meaning entirely

As for Elmasry's comments, I find it interesting that this transcript has several "clarifications" (in square brackets) which completely change the meanings of the sentences.

have the same meaning (the [that] was inserted.)

Maybe it's true that these corrections better reflect Elmasry's intent when speaking initially. However, I'd be more inclined to take this charitable interpretation if the clarifications had been made without being inserted into the initial document.
