That was not my experience last fall. Despite what you'd LIKE to believe - it was spread all around campus that Feds was 'persecuting' The Embassy/ESA because they were Christians. This was done through e-mails sent around to different clubs etc but mostly through word of mouth. I talked to some friends who attended The Embassy and this persecution story was the one I heard over and over again. (In fact - I just heard a distorted version of it last night - concerning why someone should vote for Team Yellow!!)
