I was on the elections committee, so perhaps I'm biased too, but Matt Austin's appeal should not have been overturned. He very clearly violated the procedure about submitting expense forms on time, and the procedure very clearly said he should be disqualified. The university secretary chose to ignore the procedure and overturn our decision.

On your main point, though, it's very possible that the decision will be overturned. However, I have trouble accepting this conspiracy theory that the committees are biased one way or the other, mostly because that would make me a part of the conspiracy.
