Your comments belittle the struggles that out of school youth face in an economy where computer skills are more and more necessary to earn a living wage. Give your conspiracy theories a rest and think for just a second about what it would mean to be unemployable in a developing country. How many hundreds of ways would your life be different, and your future less secure?
ICT for development is about providing out of school youth with the opportunity to have a job and be educated. As a Canadian I have a much greater chance of enjoying these priveledges than the average global citizen. Personally, I can't bring myself to begrudge that beneficiaries of the Scala program the opportunity that you and I take for granted everyday.
Learn a little about the actual value of computer training from the United Nations at sdnhq.undp.org/it4dev/ Basic computer literacy creates benefits such as free speech and a greater exchange of information, employability, and the increased efficiency of basic services and business. [ Parent ]
