Dangerous (and of course off topic)
Authored by: Albert on Monday, April 25 2005 @ 11:34 AM CDT
It is dangerous to allow other to sum up your news for you, when it can be hard to determine there... point of view.

Basically around $250 Million was available in a program designed to ... improve the idea of a united canada in Quebec. Unfortunately $100 Million ended up, through backroom dealings, in the hands of Liberal friendly ad-firms. Some of the money might have even ended back in the Liberal party.

There is a currently a public inquiry on the mess, which open to answer a lot of question of what really happen. It is expected to finish in December.

Meanwhile, back on the hill, the Liberals for some reason stopped having so-called opposition days in the house (if anyone has an idea of he real, and the state reason, please share). This of course pissed off the opposition (more so the Conseratives and the Bloc). The Conversatives I believe have a government toppling non-confidence motion in the waters now. The budget through will probably be the first oppertunity to topple the government. I gather polls indicate a majority of the Canadian public would rather have real answer from the inquiry before going to the polls, not just half of the testomony, some of which is "damning".

To sum up, Liberals abused the public trust with a relatively small amount of money, and other parties are using this to gain advantage.

Note: I haven't been paying *that* much attension to the news, so parts might be missing.
