That does make a certain amount of sense.
This implies that the cancellation of opposition days didn't cause the current climate of impending non-confidence, but simply signals it.
Though it seems odd, as the general message is, "err you got rid of our day to do stuff, that's it, no more support".
I had the impression it was a fear that the Conservatives would use opposition day not to topple to govt, but introduce legislation what would in fact pass, but the Liberals won't like, caused the cancellation.
Also, there is now a non-confidence motion in the water from the Conservatives, so it seem canceling the days did prevent anything. Though I wonder if a same-day non-confidence motion could happen on Opposition days. I don't know enough about how the house actually works.
