CKMS?
Authored by: ALumni'04 on Sunday, July 24 2005 @ 07:13 PM CDT
Hey folks, I haven't really been following the Embassay saga since I don't go here anymore, but may I ask: If the problem with the Embassay is that the proportion of community members to students served is to high to justify the subsidy, has anyone done similiar calculations for CKMS?

a.) CKMS receives a cash subsidy of greater magnitude, I believe, than that afforded to ESA.
b.) I don't know any UW students who listen to CKMS and I went here for 4 years
c.) Anytime I have listened to CKMS the DJs were not students but community members wanting to be famous on the student's dolla.

I think a dbl standard is being applied here, and frankly I don't care either way I would be just as happy to see CKMS toasted as ESA reinstated, I only crave consistency.

P.S. I think similiar calculations could be performed for WPIRG. . .
