The original posting was the result of reading the agenda of Math Faculty
Representative Council, which is posted to the Web. I don't think any other
Faculty does this. Members of Rep Council (I am one) got an auxiliary memo
detailing other efforts to address the problem (which did not require a vote
by Rep Council) and there was a briefing by the Associate Dean at the
meeting (some of the details will show up in the minutes, which will also be
posted, eventually).
I don't think anyone thought to publicize this in any way, let alone spin it.
You can call this "boobery", but it's more likely the result of people having
barely enough time to come to grips with the problem, and probably no extra
time to ponder how to let people know about it. --PR[ Parent ]
