| FEDS Town Hall Session |

The University of Waterloo and the Federation of Students would like to
invite all students to attend a town hall session to discuss the proposed
location (B2 Green space) for the nano-tech building. The town hall will be held in the
Multi-Purpose Room of the Student Life Centre Monday May 30th, 4-5pm.

| Traffic and Parking Appeal Board opening |

The Traffic and Parking Appeal Board is in need of a representative of undergraduate students for the Fall and Winter terms with its first meeting in September. The meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month at 1:30pm.
Interested individuals are encouraged to contact Becky at pres@feds.uwaterloo.ca with a summary of why you think you would be a good candidate for this position.

The Federation of Students will be providing students with transportation to polling stations in the Kitchener-Waterloo riding between the hours of 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, June 28.

On Monday, June 14, the Federation of Students, Graduate Student Association, and Wilfrid Laurier University Students' Union co-hosted a successful local candidates forum. During the two-hour event, students had the opportunity to hear about education platforms of the major four parties and to ask questions on a variety of issues.

So, Prime Minister Martin has decided June 28th would be a good time for an election. This election is important and, especially because the result is very much up in the air, the student vote could make a huge difference. Thus, the Federation of Students, in partnership with the Canadian Alliance of Student Associations, will be running a campaign to raise awarenss of education issues during this federal election. In addition, we will be helping students get the information they need to get registered and assist them in getting to their polling location on election day. For all of that, though, we need volunteers.

Student positions have become available on the Food Advisory Board (2) and on the Student Life Centre Management Board (2). The SLCMB oversees the operation of the SLC and decides on rates for retailers, space allocation and SLC policies and procedures. The SLCMB generally meets once per month for two hours.
